Specific requirements demanded a purpose made oak frame design for a conservatory structure.
The conservatory was built on traditional strip foundations and provided an office and playroom facility integrated between the existing house and detached garage.
A kitchen refit was also carried out as part of the project.
Joinery was supplied by Simon Price Joinery of Windsor.
Client: Balmoral Propperties Ltd.
This unique detached property was built by BPC Ltd. to a very high standard offering excellent accommodation located close to Knaphill village centre. The property was designed using traditional construction with roof trusses and timber floors.
Appropriate use of a dormer window provided a full ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom whilst incorporating on the first floor a further 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom. There are 3 reception rooms, a family room, kitchen and breakfast room on the ground floor.
The project was completed on time and within budget.
The project involved the conversion and extension of existing workrooms to provide bedsits, communal and support facilities for mentally and physically handicapped residents.
The Cedar Lodge project (which is phase 2 of 3 phases) required the demolition of the portico feature to be replaced by a new 2 storey building on standard traditional strip foundations with a beam and block ground floor construction. The living accommodation on the first floor resulted in a fire rated and sound insulated timber floor (British Gypsum System), the timber roof structure was cut on site to match in with the existing roof profile.
Five new bedsits were constructed within the old workroom building and within the new extension a kitchen, lounge, dining room and wc facility. On the first floor of the new extension is a self contained flat providing staff accommodation.
The services contract was design and build and quite complex to execute given the requirement to fully integrate new and existing systems. The fire alarm system, Nurse Call intercom facility and security lighting controls were all extended with careful coordination by BPC in conjunction with the client.
A feature of the new complex is a glazed link, which gives a focal point to the new elevations and provides a new entrance, reception and enclosed through access between the existing and new buildings. Full security and safety is incorporated within this area by an electrically operated door system on the main entrance and link doors. Secure operation is controlled by keypad and linked to the fire alarm system.
